Awful experience
Waldorf education can be wonderful! As with
every type of education, there are amazing Waldorf schools and there are
terrible schools. Our experience with this school was awful. The
programs are not what you would expect for the price of tuition.

Our experience at this school was a nightmare even though
we believe that Waldorf education can be wonderful for so many
children. We found the teachers to be awful in the early childhood and
in the grades. Finding good Waldorf teachers is very difficult for this
school. The programs that they offer are minimal compared to others in
the area and their tuition is high.
This school is certainly not right for everybody. It's like
a hippie-commune combined with an amish school..It's one big
family,sharing,sharing..There is no confidentiality..My son was there
for 6 weeks..The best advice i can give to anybody considering this
school is read about it first!! from the outside it seems like a dream
school..It's not! thank you

Our
experience at Water's Edge was a nightmare. The teachers and staff
that we dealt with were awful. We were constantly (almost daily) asked
to donate more money to the school. The programs that they offer are
inconsistent from year to year and are weak compared the other Waldorf
schools in the Midwest.

You may ask, "where are all the 5=Star reviews?" Well, the problem with those reviews is that many tend not to be too honest. I have included 4-star reviews that appear honest. Often, gushing reviews are placed by teachers and administrators - as some comments here indicate. "This school educates the whole child!!!" - 5 stars - by Anonymous... I say baloney! Notice, many of the reviewers have been misled by Waldorf and are still buying the PR, even after having been disappointed. Feel free to comment but understand the intent of this blog.
